Recommendations Restitutions Committee

On 20 July 2016 the Restitutions Committee advised the Minister of Education, Culture and Science to reject a claim to the painting Isaac Israels 's Children on the beach of museum Arnhem. The minister rejected the claim.

In 2015 the Amsterdam Museum, Zuiderzeemuseum, Dordrechts Museum, and Museum Tongerlohuys returned objects to their rightful claimants. As a result of this project, information in the provenance of these objects surfaced by means of which the heirs of the former owners could prove they were the legal owner.

A claim to a painting in the Open Air Museum in Arhnem was rejected after the Restitutions Committee issued a negative advice regarding this matter.
