About this museum and its collection

The arboretum started as a monastery garden. Today it is arranged as a botanical garden, specialised in collecting and growing trees and shrubs for scientific, educational, recreational and economic benefit. Among the collections on show are the Aesculus (red horse chestnut) and Viburnum (snowball tree).
